With over two decades and more than two hundred air pollution control consultant engagements for utility and industrial around the world, Epsco possesses unequalled experience and skill in the investigation, assessment, analysis, and specification of air pollution control issues involving a variety of equipment and within a wide range of cost, performance and regulatory parameters.
A consultation engagement in Taiwan offers a good example of Epsco’s breadth of services. A Taiwanese utility, facing flue gas desulferization concerns related to coal-fired boilers, engaged the company to arrive at a solution for adding flue gas desulferization equipment to existing coal-fired boilers. In order to succesfully upgrade the plant and its systems, electrostatic precipitators were required to be relocated.
Epsco’s consultation and engineering teams performed an investigation to evaluate the most cost-effective method of adding the flue gas devices and equipment, as well as transporting and relocating the electrostatic precipitators, with the added specification of minimizing the amount of offline time required to the upgrade.
By planning and engineering ducts that allowed the electrostatic precipitators to continue operation during transport (Epsco designed and engineered the transport system as well) our engineering and consultation teams were able to provide the Taiwanese utility with uninterrupted power generation, cost-effective upgrade, and maintenance of both structural and mechanical integrity during the operation.
Because Epsco engaged in project management as well as analysis and design, the project proceeded with maximum efficiency and confidence that, once completed, the relocated and upgraded equipment would function as it was intended to.
That level and breadth of skills and experience is both a priceless and an affordable asset for utility and industrial companies faced with technology, regulatory and financial issues related to air quality and air pollution control.
